These are gorgeous birds. I found a male one here in New Jersey (they are not common here at all) some years ago. I tried a million ways to photograph it high up in the tree, but I had a lousy camera then.

Nice shot! Feeders make it relatively easy to capture birds....I need to get one for myself! :D

Yes, you definitely should get a feeder. You'd be amazed at all the different birds that come around. We keep a couple of feeders with seeds. When my husband went to buy some more seed, the kind he gets was out, so he got some black oil sunflower seeds and a cardinal showed up the other day. :)

Yep the different kinds can attract different birds, it's pretty cool. I love cardinals and especially goldfinches :)
